Tennis Invitationals

When each season begins, we usually have our first match at an invitational. Obviously, invitationals are different than normal matches, so this page will inform you of what to do during these events. Usually, the first invitational of the year that the team attends is either the Vicksburg invitaional or the Sturgis invitational. Invitationals usually consist of 3 other team that compete for first place. Each athlete will play one match against each other team to determine which school is the best at each rank. Every time an athlete wins a match, their team gets a point. To win the invitational, you must win the most points of the 4 teams that attend. Each match will be held on the same day, usually with a 30 minute rest in between each match. Players that are on their rest time are expected to go and support their friends as they play their matches. When players are on their rest break, they can also eat food at the tent set up by the parents or coaches. At the tent is a variety of food and drinks that any player may eat. The food at the tent is provided by parents, athletes, or coaches and are kept in containers or coolers. At the end of the invitational, all of the teams will gather at a designated meeting place to add the scores of each team and hand out awards. The team with the most points receives a trophy and the winners of each rank are occasionally awarded medals. Any further questions can be asked using the number provided below.
