The Current State Of Heritage Park

Heritage Park is located in Coldwater, Michigan and includes a variety of buildings and equipment that will meet almost anyones expectations. The main Park is the center of attention as it serves as a safe place where kids can have fun and perhaps gain a new friend along the way. This park is located on the West side of the park next to the sand volleyball pits and the mens softball diamonds. The other park has a more metallic design which is located on the East side of the park

The main mode attractions of the park are all connected through a series of paths that are heavily decorated with a variety of trees and bushes. These provide a nice opprotunity for community members to walk, bike, or even rollerblade. Each year the city makes sure that any dying plants are replaced and any cracks are repaired to ensure a more pleasent experience. These walking tracks are not only restricted to Heritage Park. They expanded these paths spread further accross the community and provide a nice way to locate Heritage park if you are ever lost.

The tennis courts are located near the East side of the park and is one of the prides of the community. In late 2015 a proposal was brought to the community to help fund the construction of a new tennis court that would be more appealing to both the players and the community. The older courts were developing large cracks and the fencing was starting to rust. Money was quickly raised and in 2016 the new tennis courts were constructed. These courts now include a center walkway for spectators and a plaque was built to honor the donors that help to fund the project. Today they are used by both the high school tennis team and members of the community alike.

The splash pad is the newest addition to Heritage Park to date and is by far one of the most visited spot by the community. Originally, the space served as the community pool where many citizens would cool off on a hot summer day. Due to budget cuts, the pool had to be closed. However, many rejoiced at the fact that a new splash park would be added at no cost to the community.
